Are Your Natural Male Hormones Suppressing Your Lifestyle?

By Carolyn Hansen

moody men

Men’s testosterone levels have declined in direct relation to the decrease in their physical activity and increase intake of processed food over the last 50 odd years.

The majority of men have desk jobs or other jobs that require extended periods of sitting or other sedentary behavior and this removes the physical work that boosted the male hormone testosterone.

If all of this wasn’t bad enough, men are now getting excess of the female hormone estrogen from the environment. When it gets into a man’s body it sends the signal to become more feminine…it is the beginning of man boobs.

The great news is you don’t have to live with this. You can restore your healthy levels of testosterone with changes in your lifestyle, exercise and activity levels and attention to your diet.

Are your natural male hormones suppressing your lifestyle?

Are you experiencing any of these signs or symptoms of low testosterone levels:

      • Decreased sex drive/problems with love life
      • Erectile dysfunction/impotence. No or poor erections of the penis
      • Decreased sperm count
      • Increased breast size
      • Expanded waistline
      • Feeling tired/lacking energy
      • Depressed/irritable

Hold on…does that say increased breast size? That’s exactly what happens. Now, if you are female you might welcome an increase in your breast size but any man I know would not welcome a growth in his breasts.

This condition, ‘man boobs’ is causing a disturbing trend that’s happening among men; getting ‘breast reduction’ surgery which has risen over 2500 percent in the last 5 years.

Hormonal imbalance is the villain.

One of the things you need to address in order to get your hormones balanced is your sedentary lifestyle. You need to start on a strength training program right away to work your muscles through their range of motion under a ‘load’ and get your ‘men’ hormones stimulated.

Once stimulated they surge throughout your body increasing your strength and muscle mass; improving bone strength, burning off body fat, offering protection from disease and slowing the aging process.

Cardio activities do not produce these benefits. The intensity level is too low to stimulate ‘growth and repair’ hormones.

Combine your strength training with small meals that include quality protein from grass fed animals if possible and by getting rid of as many processed foods from your diet as you can. This will help to limit the amount of chemicals that you are ingesting with every bite.

If you are past thirty and not strength training or exercising your muscles, your body is quietly but surely building layers of fat, your lean muscle tissue is dwindling and you are losing strength and energy.

The balance of strength training exercise (doing enough muscle building exercise is critical to keeping your male hormones flowing) quality foods and proper exercise will improve the balance of your hormones and grab back your manliness.

You’ll feel better, look better, and perform better in all areas of your life.
