How and why did you become a ghost GLBT Hunter?

Tell us what Ghost Hunters is all about?

 I think at its core, Queer Ghost Hunters is about bringing some aspects of our LGBTQ history to light.  It’s the forgotten stories about how homosexuals were institutionalized or imprisoned for sodomy.  

 

An unexpected side effect of the project, for me anyhow, is helping people feel accepted and that they belong.  The comments and messages regarding this has been very humbling.

Who has been your biggest influence in your life? 

My grandmother

Your idea of a perfect evening is?

That could vary by mood and who I’m with. Anything from out having a few beers at a local brewery, going to the monthly Rocky Horror Picture Show or just sitting at home binge watching a new series.

The last book I read was ….

I just got around to reading Paul Stanley’s biography. Big KISS fan, and yes I’ve read all their biographies.

My favorite movies/plays are?

Can’t really say I like plays, can’t even remember the last one I went to. My favorite movies are horror. I love them, and usually even the bad ones.

Nobody knows that I ……

Wow, that’s a tough one. I’m very open. I’d say most people don’t know that I haven’t seen my family in over 20 years.

What had been your biggest setback or failure in life and how did you overcome it? 

The family situation I mentioned. I just accepted it, and  decided not to let it be a barrier, kept it to myself and moved on.

If I could meet my younger self, I would tell him…

Don’t worry about it, just keep on doing what you’re doing, accept what you can’t change. You’ll actually be a better person for it.

What are the biggest challenges you have as a gay man after 40?  ……

Dating!!! Single over 40 in the gay world seems to be challenging. Let alone mid 40s 😋

What would you like to say to the Gay Life after 40 tribe? 

It’s never too late to try something new.
